Back around 2011, I was DJing live online for various communities. Not professionally—just passion, music, and midnight energy. Somehow, I landed a slot on one of the biggest streaming platforms of the time. High traffic. Constant tune-ins. A lot of noise.

It wasn’t prime time, but it was a foot in the door. And many DJs were clawing for that chance. I was new, excited, and trying not to screw it up.

The owner of that station… well, let’s say he was talented and toxic. A gifted DJ, yes. But also the kind of guy who thought volume = authority. The kind of ego you could spot from orbit. He divided people: some adored him (mostly women), others loathed him. I got to know both sides.

One night, mid-show, he messaged me.
No greeting, no warm-up—just:

“Put more energy in there. Talk to the listeners. More energy, now.”

Then he started narrating my own stats:

“See? Look at your numbers. More energy out, more tune-ins. You feel that? That’s engagement.”

And blimey… he was right.

The moment I stepped it up—spoke with more intention, more rhythm, more life—the audience grew. Not gradually. Instantly. I could see it in the live metrics.

I didn’t work there long, I quit, because being brilliant doesn’t excuse being a complete jackass, but his lesson stuck.

And later I’ve realised:

The same rule applies to writing. To marketing. To everything.

⚡ Energy is the X-Factor

You can write the “right” blog post. Use the “correct” keywords. Link all the things. And still… nothing.

Why? Because it’s dead.

Flat copy dies on the page. Energetic writing? That lives in the reader’s brain.

Science backs this up, by the way. Studies show that expressive delivery—whether vocal or written—activates the parts of the brain tied to attention, memory, and emotional connection.

When your content moves, your reader stays.

🧠 Here’s What’s Actually Happening

Energy in writing isn’t noise. It’s movement.

  • Movement in tone
  • Movement in rhythm
  • Movement in emotion
  • Movement in truth

When you write with conviction—whether calm or fiery—your words hit differently. It triggers mirror neurons.
It bypasses the “meh” filter. It makes people feel something.

And if they feel something, they stay. They click. They come back.

📢 Marketing Needs More Than Links

Affiliate marketing?
Writing emails?
Selling your eBook or course?

If your stuff reads like a tax form, it dies like one, but if your words carry energy, intention, presence—people notice.

Even a call-to-action button can carry a pulse if you write it right.

🎧 What I Learned From the Booth

Back then, I thought I just needed to “show up.”
Now I know better:

You don’t show up—you tune in.
You don’t push content—you broadcast energy.

The rest? That’s what brings people in.

(I still run a set now and then… with SAM Broadcaster or with OBS for Twitch, mostly for fun, and for retesting this energy concept. )

💬 Your Turn

Have you ever written something and just known it was alive?
Or posted something and felt the silence echo?

What changed when you added more you into it?
